NASHVILLE, Tn. (WBKO) — The heat couldn’t keep away country music fans as they flooded downtown Nashville for day one of CMA Music Festival.
Fans made their way to Music City from near and far. Colorado, Maryland, West Virginia, England — a few of the places people traveled from to attend CMA Fest.
"I think it’s awesome," said Judy Prather. "It’s on our bucket list and now I think I’m gonna leave it on the bucket list to do it again."
"We’re walking around, we’re doing activities, we’re just having fun," said Gracee Carter from White House, Tenn.
"Everyone’s been so nice. Way too nice. We’re not expecting that — we’re from New Jersey," said two other fans.
However, the fans were not the only ones having a good time.
"I used to play empty rooms so it’s nice that fans show up and we get to hang out," said country music singer, Eric Paslay. "I think it’s just pretty cool with country music that we get to do this and hang out and be real and say thank you."
Some fans caught relief from the heat inside Music City Center at Fan Fair X for a chance for fans to meet country music stars.
"A lot of artists and you get up front and close and personal with them," said Jeffrey Gadow from Maryland.
Despite the heat, crowds, and lines, the music brought people together because of a common bond.
"We all love country music and we like supporting the artists," said Carter.
